Last Night
    Last night, the Tomahawks lost a back-and-forth game 5-4 to the Jr. Blues. The Blues took a 3-0 lead, thanks to a pair of power-play goals from Trevor Stone and a goal from Logan Wendling. The Tomahawks responded, as Cody Bentzel’s shot deflected off a Springfield defender and past Stefanos Lekkas at 10:47. Brandon Reinholz cut the deficit to one with a power-play goal at 13:48, before Tanner Barnes scored his first Tomahawks goal at 14:56. Ross Olsson gave the Jr. Blues the lead back with a power-play goal at 17:45.
    Dakoda Menslage tied the game at 7:40 of the third period, with Shane Bednard adding his third assist of the game. Late in the period, Ross Olsson scored the game-winner on a shot from just inside the blue line at 4:58.
    Lekkas earned the win, stopping 23 of 27 shots. Jake Moore took the loss, allowing two goals on 21 shots. He relieved Alex Okicki, who allowed three goals on 18 shots. The Tomahawks went 1-for-6 on the power play, while Springfield went 3-for-7.
    Following tonight’s game, the Tomahawks travel to Port Huron next Friday & Saturday, before returning home to take on the Michigan Warriors Jan 24 & 25.

Division Preview
    In the only other division game last night, the Michigan Warriors defeated the Janesville Jets 4-1. The win pulls the Warriors within two points of Johnstown for second place. They play again tonight, while Port Huron begins a two-game series in Sault Ste. Marie.
