Johnstown Tomahawks at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights

Friday February 5th        7 p.m.

The Johnstown Tomahawks continue their four-game road trip this weekend, visiting Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Friday night and New Jersey Saturday night. The Tomahawks enter the weekend two points behind Aston for first place in the East Division.

The Tomahawks hope to carry some momentum from last weekend, after taking three of four points on the road at New Jersey. The Tomahawks came back late to earn a point in a 5-4 overtime loss Friday night, before rebounding with a 5-2 victory Saturday night.

Casey Linkenheld had four points in the two games, including a hat trick in Friday night’s game. Andrew Romano also added a goal and four assists in the two games.

Despite being outscored 15-10, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights had a successful weekend, taking two of three games from the Aston Rebels last weekend. The Knights took the first game 3-2, before dropping the second game 10-2. The Knights rebounded in the rubber game, scoring four unanswered goals in a 5-3 victory.

Jacob Hamacher had six assists during the three-game series, while Blake Busch added two goals and three assists. Grant Valentine and Andrey Svistunov each earned victories during the weekend series.

The Tomahawks have won five of the eight meetings against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, including the last three. Luke Lynch leads the Tomahawks with 12 points (seven goals, five assists) against the Knights, while Andrew Lindgren has a pair of victories between the pipes.

Stephen Kelly and Tanner Bennett each have eight points against the Tomahawks, while Grant Valentine has a pair of wins against Johnstown.

Following tonight’s game, Johnstown visits Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Feb. 19 and 20. The teams meet seven more times this season, with the Tomahawks hosting four of the seven meetings.
