Generals Top Tomahawks 3-2

ATTLEBORO, Mass. –  The Northeast Generals edged the Johnstown Tomahawks 3-2 Friday night at the New England Sports Village.

Johnstown tallied the game’s first goal at 5:52 of the first period when Evan Somoza tucked a shot behind Generals goalie David Fessenden. Joe Kile picked up the lone assist.

The Tomahawks gained a two-goal advantage in the second period after Dalton Hunter scored his 27th of the season. Nick Bruce assisted on the goal, extending his point streak to seven games.

Northeast stormed back into the game with goals from Alex Cohen and Colin Bilek.

The Generals went ahead of the Tomahawks in the third period when Christian Thomas scored at 10:33. The goal stood as the game-winning goal.

Johnstown returns to the War Memorial Friday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. to start a two-game set with the Aston Rebels. April 7 is Pucks and Paws Night presented by the Cambria County Humane Society. Fans can bring their friendly dogs to the game for a $5 dog ticket. The Humane Society will also be accepting donations of dog food.

Saturday, April 8 is Fan Appreciation Night presented by UPMC Health Plan. Fans in attendance will receive a commemorative souvenir poster as well as receive prizes that include gift certificates to local restaurants and retailers, t-shirts, tickets to playoff games and more.
