Johnstown, Pa – The Johnstown Tomahawks hosted the Northeast Generals for the first time this season on Friday night and dropped the game 4-1.
The Northeast Generals scored the only goal of the first period at 10:36. Mike Egan slipped a puck through Johnstown’s netminder, Kade Phipps, to give the Generals a 1-0 lead. The lone assist went to Matthew Wiesner. The goal was Egan’s sixteenth of the season.
In the second, Northeast added to their lead only thirty-eight seconds into the period. Colin Bilek scored his eleventh goal of the season and first in fifteen games. The assist went to Louis Boudon.
The Tomahawks cut the Generals lead in half and made the game 2-1 on the power play. Toby Sengvongxay slapped one in from the blue line for his second goal of the season. The assist went to Samuel Solensky at 2:24.
The Generals regained their two-goal lead a couple minutes later on, Colin Bilek’s second goal of the game. The assist went to Pat Arrington at 5:26.
While the Tomahawks had several quality chances and long stretches of zone time, Johnstown couldn’t get another goal passed Generals’ goalie, Marko Sturma, in the period.
Northeast went into the second intermission with a 3-1 lead.
In the third period, Colin Bilek finished his hat-trick with his third goal of the game at 12:17 of the period. The assist went to Louis Boudon.
That would make the score 4-1 Generals, which would be the final score of the game.
