Hawks Fall Late to Black Bears

The Johnstown Tomahawks drop game two of three against the Maryland Black Bears on the road Saturday night by a final score of 4-2.

The Tomahawks attacked early in the first period as Anthony Galante scored on the power play 2:23 into the game on Saturday. Maryland responded with a goal from Sean Kilcullen 3:22 later to tie the game at one. Brayden Stannard scored a power play goal then for the Black Bears to quickly give them their first lead of the night. Galante got the equalizer for the Tomahawks on the power play again getting his second goal of the game and sixth of the season with 3:35 remaining, ending the opening period tied at 2.

After a scoreless second period, the majority of the third period goes on scoreless as well. Just as it looked as the game would be headed to overtime, Hunter Ramos finds the back of the net for the Black Bears with 1:18 remaining in regulation. Christian Catalano secured the 4-2 win for the Black Bears less than a minute later with an empty net goal.
