Sep 12, 2016

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Tomahawks announced today that forward Dalton Hunter was named the East Division Star of the Week for the week ending Sept. 11, 2016.

Hunter collected three points (three goals) in a weekend sweep of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.

The  Greensburg, Pa., native tallied a goal Friday, Sept. 9 ina 4-3 victory for the Tomahawks. He then followed that performance with a two-goal night helping Johnstown come back an win 6-4 on Saturday, Sept. 10.

“It was a great way for us to start our regular season with 2 wins on the road,” Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia said. “Both games were a good battle and Dalton was instrumental in our success. He scored our first goal on Friday night to start up a comeback, and then on Saturday he scored a tying goal in the 3rd period and then the eventual game-winner. His whole line really could have factored into this award, but the magnitude and timing of his goals, along with his overall play was vital to our total success and I could not be happier for him and our team.”

Hunter is entering his third season with the Tomahawks. He has earned 29 points (11 goals, 28 assists) in 91 career games played.

The Tomahawks are back on the road on Wednesday, Sept. 21 for the annual North American Hockey League Showcase. Johnstown faces the Springfield Jr. Blues for a 11:15 a.m. CST faceoff.
