Ice Dogs Best Tomahawks 4-0

JOHNSTOWN – The Fairbanks Ice Dogs used three power-play goals to defeat the Johnstown Tomahawks 4-0 Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

The Ice Dogs capitalized on a 5-on-3 situation when Josef Ingman scored on Tomahawks goalie Andrew Lindgren to give Fairbanks the 1-0 lead.

Fairbanks added to their lead later in the second period from a Reggie Lutz, also power-play goal. Todd Burgess and Jakob Stridsberg assisted on the tally.

Ryner Gorowosky increased the Fairbanks lead to 3-0 minutes later with his goal. The goal was assisted by Tyler Tomberlin.

Lutz added another power-play goal early in the third period on a major penalty.

Gavin Nieto picked up the win with for the Ice Dogs, his 18th victory of the season, by stopping 17 Tomahawks shots for a shutout.

Lindgren picked up the loss and stopped 30 of 34 Ice Dogs shots. The loss moves his record to 4-4-1 overall.

Johnstown returns to the Cambria County War Memorial Friday Jan. 22 for the start of a weekend series with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. Friday night is Kids Night and will see an appearance by the world-famous ZOOperstars.
