Nov 15, 2013

The Johnstown Tomahawks are proud to announce that defenseman Alex Jaeckle has committed to play for the United States Air Force Academy. Jaeckle joins fellow teammate Matthew Meier in committing to play for the Falcons.

Jaeckle has appeared in 20 games for the Tomahawks this season, scoring four goals and two assists. He played 27 games for the Little Caesars U18 team of the High Performance Hockey League.

“This is another great success for our organization. The most important thing for us has always been the development and advancement of our players. Alex is a hard-working player and a key part of our team. More importantly, he’s a great person who is truly deserving of this achievement,” said Tomahawks head coach Jason Spence.

The Tomahawks now have 12 players that are playing in, or have committed to play college hockey.

The Tomahawks welcome the Port Huron Fighting Falcons to the War Memorial next Friday & Saturday. Saturday night’s game features the annual teddy bear toss, where fans are encouraged to toss toys onto the ice to benefit local children. The team will also be collecting non-perishable food items for St. Vincent DePaul before both games. All fans donating to the food drive will receive Tomahawks player cards, while supplies last.
