Jamestown Wins in Overtime, Advances to East Division Final

The Jamestown Rebels defeated the Johnstown Tomahawks 4-3 in overtime Sunday night, winning in game five advancing to the East Division Final.

Jamestown netted the first goal of the game just 49 seconds in, as John Lundy scored his second goal of the series. Kolby Amici then scored for the Rebels, putting them up 2-0 with 10:50 remaining in the opening period. Holt Oliphant got Johnstown on the board before time expired in the 1st period with a power play goal with just over two minutes remaining in the period, sending the game to the 1st intermission with Jamestown up 2-1.

Joshua Burke scored for Jamestown 1:03 into the 2nd, putting them up 3-1 early. Egan Schmitt responded for the Tomahawks with his first of the playoffs, making it a one-goal game. David Matousek then tied it up at three for the Tomahawks late in the period, giving them momentum going into the final 20 minutes of the East Division Semifinal series.

For the third time in the five game series, 60 minutes was not enough to decide a winner as the game would go to overtime tied at 3 after a scoreless 3rd period. Ryan Waltman won the series and game for Jamestown when he scored.
