KLEMM NAMED NAHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH

Feb 29, 2024

Johnstown Tomahawks defenseman, Lukas Klemm has been named NAHL defenseman of the month for February.

“Lukas had an outstanding month of February just as he has had all season for us,” said Tomahawks Head Coach Mike Letizia. “He had points in every game and was a rock for us on our back end playing heavy, heavy minutes. Since becoming a Tomahawk, Lukas has been everything we hoped he would be and more for our team on and off the ice. Additionally, he had a great two games in Pittsburgh at Top Prospects for Team East. His commitment to Mercyhurst was the icing on the cake for a great month individually, and certainly a well-earned and deserved accomplishment for everything he has done this season.”

The Stamford, CT native had an exceptional February, featuring in 10 games. Throughout the month, he amassed a total of 13 points, registering 3 goals and 10 assists, all while maintaining a commendable +7 rating. Klemm proved particularly effective on the power-play, contributing a goal and two assists during this period. Additionally, as part of Team East in the 2024 NAHL Top Prospect lineup, the Mercyhurst University commit showcased his talent on the ice.

“I’m very honored to receive Defenseman of the Month,” said Lukas Klemm on his award. “I have had an amazing experience with the Tomahawks. I could not be happier with how far we all have come since the beginning of the season, and I couldn’t thank our coaches enough for everything they have done for all of us. As a team, we need to continue to win as many games as possible and make sure we don’t lose any games we shouldn’t. We’ve put ourselves in a good spot since Christmas and we need to continue to build off of that into and through the playoffs.”

Klemm and the Tomahawks will head to New Hampshire this weekend to face the Mountain Kings as they look to make a push for the Robertson Cup Playoffs. Catch all the action live on NAHLTV Friday at 7:30 PM and Saturday at 7:00 PM.
