Maryland takes Game One over Johnstown

The Johnstown Tomahawks fell to the Maryland Black Bears by a score of, 4-5 on Friday night.

The Black Bears took an early lead by scoring the first goal in the initial period. Nevertheless, the Tomahawks responded with a power-play goal from Lukas Klemm, assisted by Jaden Johnson and Alexey Yarmulke, leveling the score at one. Despite this, Maryland managed to net two consecutive power-play goals, finishing the first period with a 3-1 lead in favor of the Black Bears.

The second period commenced with a goal from Nick White, assisted by Will Lawrence, narrowing the Black Bears’ lead to 3-2. Nevertheless, Maryland responded with two goals, extending their advantage to 5-2. In a comeback effort, Nick White scored again with an unassisted goal. Despite this, Maryland maintained their lead over the Tomahawks, concluding the second period with a score of 5-3.

Taybor Aldrich, with an assist from Nick White, scored the only goal in the third period, bringing the score to 4-5. Despite the Tomahawks’ determined efforts, Maryland ultimately secured the victory with a final score of 4-5.
