“I am so proud of Max on his commitment to play Division 1 hockey at Canisius,” said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia. “He has been instrumental to our team all season long. Not only has he proven himself to be an elite offensive player in our league, he has completely bought into the team game that we try to implement. Max truly is a pleasure to coach as he is someone who loves the game, competes day in and day out, and is very coachable. We are all very happy for him on this fine accomplishment to join coach Large and the Griffins hockey program. ”

The 19-year old Kouznetsov has made an impact on the ice this season, as well as away from the rink. He has made countless appearances in Johnstown giving back to the Tomahawk community and its fans.

“I’m super thankful for my coaches and teammates for always supporting me,” Kouznetsov said. “Most importantly I want to thank the city of Johnstown and our fans for always being supportive and welcoming to their family here.”

Located in Buffalo, NY, the Canisius College hockey program is led by head coach Trevor Large.
