NORTHEAST DEFEATS JOHNSTOWN IN SHOOTOUT

The Johnstown Tomahawks fell to the Northeast Generals in a shootout on Saturday afternoon by a final score of, 4-3.

The opening period mirrored the previous night’s game, with Northeast striking first to claim an early lead against the Tomahawks. Once more, history repeated itself when Will Lawrence netted his 18th goal of the season, assisted by Zach Aben and Justin Gibson, leveling the score at one apiece. As the buzzer sounded, both teams headed to the locker room deadlocked at one.

Momentum shifted entirely to the Tomahawks in the second period. Lukas Klemm seized the lead for the team with a goal, beautifully assisted by Sean Morgan and Nick White. Soon after, Hank Reed further solidified the Tomahawks’ advantage with another goal, assisted by Taybor Aldrich and Hunter Fetterolf, bringing the score to 3-1 in favor of the Tomahawks by the period’s conclusion. Throughout the first two periods, goaltender Zack Ferris demonstrated stellar performance, repelling 31 of 32 shots on goal, ensuring the Tomahawks remained firmly in control.

During the third period of play the Generals rallied, netting two unanswered goals to force the game into overtime. Despite the Tomahawks having opportunities to clinch victory during the extra period, both teams remained deadlocked, leading to a shootout. In the end, it was the Generals who emerged triumphant, securing a 4-3 victory over the Johnstown Tomahawks.
