Johnstown Tomahawks defenseman Mack Oliphant has announced his commitment to College of the Holy Cross to further his career playing Division I hockey.

I am very excited to be a part of the Holy Cross hockey program,” said Oliphant about his commitment. “I hope to make a big impact and help the team win an Atlantic championship. I can’t wait to get to Worcester next season and be a Crusader.”

The rookie defenseman has made an immediate impact, putting up six assists in his first 11 games with the Tomahawks this season. The Northbrook, Illinois native will be joining Tomahawks alumni, John Gelatt in Worcester, Massachusetts as they suit up together for the Crusaders.

“Mack has been a great addition to our team, and his play has firmly warranted all of the Division I interest he has received ultimately leading him to Holy Cross,” said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia. “He certainly has the ability to be an impact player at the next level and I think Holy Cross can help fit both his hockey and academic desires. I am really proud of Mack on his commitment and look forward to more great things to come from him the rest of this season.”
