The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Northeast Generals by a final score of, 2-0 on Friday night.

The Friday night game held significant importance for both East Division teams, each vying for crucial points ahead of the Robertson Cup Playoffs. The determination of both teams to secure a victory was palpable. Despite their best efforts, the scoreboard remained deadlocked at zero by the end of the first period.

What started out as a quiet second period between the Johnstown Tomahawks and Northeast Generals quickly took a turn. Both teams displayed an evident  hunger for victory. It was the Tomahawks who broke the deadlock, as Justin Rapp netted a power-play goal assisted by Cade Baker and Dylan Shane. As the second period concluded, the Tomahawks held a 1-0 lead over Northeast.

The third period was all about the goaltenders. The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Tomahawks until there was under two minutes and thirty seconds remaining. After Northeast pulled their goaltender, Captain Zach Aben sealed the deal for the Tomahawks with an empty net goal assisted by Alexey Yarmulnik and Isaac Holt. The Tomahawks went on to defeat the Generals with a final score of, 2-0. Goals Jacob Osborne recored his second shutout of the season stopping all 29 pucks that came his way.

The Johnstown Tomahawks will face the Northeast Generals for game two of the weekend tomorrow night at 7 PM.
