Our Home Ice Heads to Pittsburgh

Oct 3, 2019

PITTSBURGH, Penn.  The Pittsburgh Penguins hosted their annual “Free Game For Kids” on Saturday, September 28th. The Penguins gave away 18,000 free tickets to youth hockey players across Western Pennsylvania.

Youth hockey players were invited to bring ice from their home rinks, which the Penguins filtered to use in the ice making process at PPG Paints Arena leading into the home opener on October 3, 2019.

The Cambria County Student Hockey League, more commonly known as the Johnstown Warriors, participated in the event, which means a part of Johnstown’s historic 1ST SUMMIT ARENA @ Cambria County War Memorial ice now resides in Pittsburgh and will be skated on by the Penguins and their NHL opponents throughout the year.
