POTTER ANNOUNCES COMMITMENT TO SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY

Oct 23, 2024

Johnstown Tomahawks forward Dallas Potter has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Sacred Heart University.

“I am super excited to announce my commitment to SHU,” said Dallas Potter. “Huge thanks to my family for all the sacrifices they have made and huge thanks to my coaches for always pushing me to be at my best and giving me the opportunity to play in Johnstown and represent this amazing city and fans.”

The Madison, Connecticut native, was acquired by the Johnstown Tomahawks in an off-season trade from the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. In his rookie season with the Tomahawks, Potter has had two assists in 13 games thus far this season. During the 2023-2024 season, Potter split his time between South Kent School and the New Jersey Rockets, tallying 16 goals and 29 assists across both teams. Prior to that, Potter played two seasons for Mount St. Charles Academy.

“I couldn’t be happier or more excited for Dallas for his commitment to play at Sacred Heart,” said Johnstown Tomahawks Head Coach and General Manager, Jared Kersner. “This is a great day for him and his family. Few players are more deserving than he is. Dallas is a tireless worker, fully committed to mastering his craft. He’s a very talented player, but what sets him apart is his exceptional hockey IQ. He sees the game unfold and is always a step ahead of his opponents. His great stick skills give him the ability to play with deception and make plays all over the rink.”

Potter will now head to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he will join the Sacred Heart University Pioneers, competing in the highly competitive Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA).
