Rebels Edge Tomahawks

Johnstown, Pa – The Johnstown Tomahawks hosted the Philadelphia Rebels on Friday night, for the second to last game of the 2017-18 season and dropped a heartbreaker with only a second left in regulation, 3-2.

Philadelphia kicked off the scoring only 2:09 into the first period. Aaron Bohlinger, scored his first goal of the season. The assist went to Ryan Patrick.

Johnstown tied the game at 8:10 when Roman Kraemer netted his twentieth goal of the season. The assist went to Toby Sengvongxay and goaltender, Jack Leavy. The goal came on the power play.

Philadelphia retook the lead at 13:26 when Auggie Moore scored his twelfth goal of the year. The assist went to Colin Roberts.

The first period would end with the Rebels leading the Tomahawks, 2-1.

In the second period, Johnstown tied the game, again. Roman Kraemer scored his second of the game with a great wraparound goal. It was assisted by Samuel Solensky and Andrew Quetell. The goal came at 4:06 of the period.

Both teams exchanged scoring chances all period, but the game remained tied, 2-2, going into the third period.

The third period continued to see both teams exchange quality chances as both teams tried to get the go-ahead goal.

With only a second left in the game, the Rebels crashed the net on the power play and were able to put the puck passed Jack Leavy for the game winner. The goal was credited to Ryan Patrick at 19:59.

 

Tomorrow night the 2017-18 season comes to an end. It’s night two of fan appreciation night and will include live music, tons of giveaways, and the chance for a fan to win a new car!
