JAMESTOWN, NY – The Johnstown Tomahawks saw their historic 17-game winning streak come to an end Friday evening as the Jamestown Rebels defeated the Hawks 4-1.
The Rebels gained the early 1-0 lead after a turnover in the Tomahawks zone led to a goal from Alex Frye, his 15th of the season.
The Tomahawks tied the game at the 5:55 mark of the first period when Oliver Benwell completed a two-on-one from Cam Hebert for his 13th of the season.
However, before the period concluded, Jamestown regained the lead 2-1 with a goal from Jacob Felker.
Jamestown increased their lead to 3-1 32 seconds into the second period when Felker’s shot squeaked behind Tomahawks goal Carter McPhail.
