Rebels Top Tomahawks in Home Opener 4-1

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Tomahawks dropped a 4-1 contest in the their home opener to the Jamestown Rebels Friday Night at 1st Summit Arena.
The Rebels gained the advantage early in the first period when Lewis Crosby deflected a Cam Cokinos point shot behind Tomahawks goalie Carter McPhail fora 1-0 Jamestown lead.
Nine minutes later, Jamestown capitalized on a Tomahawks turnover at the 15:53 mark of the period when Noah Finstrom beat McPhail fora 2-0 Rebels lead.
In the second period, the Rebels earned a 3-0 lead after a net-front scramble saw Konur Peterson score his second of the season.
Jamestown gained a 4-0 lead early in the third period when Nick Stuckless scored his first of the season.
Johnstown scored their lone goal of the game when Andy Nedeljkovic’s wrist shot beat Rebels netminder Ryan Keane at the 4:23 mark.
Both teams return Saturday night for Faceoff Against Cancer, presented by Chan-Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber. The Tomahawks will wear specialty pink jerseys that will be auctioned off on DASH.
