Stockdale Commits to Geneseo

The Johnstown Tomahawks, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are proud to announce that forward and Assistant Captain Bennett Stockdale has committed to play NCAA hockey for the Geneseo Knights of the SUNYAC conference.

Stockdale, of Ottawa, Ontario recently completed his second season in Johnstown. He joined the Tomahawks prior to 2018-2019 season as a free agent. He instantly became one of the team’s premier offensive players.

Stockdale was a consistent contributor in his two seasons and only missed 1 Regular Season game in 2 seasons. Named an Assistant Captain this season, his production on and off the ice was evident as well as his contributions to the Johnstown community. Stockdale was named to the 2020 NAHL East Division Top Prospects team where he represented the Tomahawks. During the two games in Attleboro, Massachusetts, he recorded a goal and two assists to help the East Division team to a 2-0 record.

“Bennett was an outstanding member of our hockey team for two seasons,” said head coach Mike Letizia. “His on-ice ability was one of his biggest strengths, but I also believe his high character and well-liked personality was something that was a huge asset for him. He was very consistent over his two seasons here, and we are very fortunate to have had Bennett in Johnstown. He will do great things for Geneseo”

Stockdale finishes his Tomahawk career with 29 goals and 52 assists for 81 points in 110 games.

He will join Tomahawk alumni and former teammate Alex Wilkins at Geneseo. Former Tomahawk Andrew Romano recently wrapped up his Senior year with the Knights where he led all of NCAA Division 3 hockey in scoring.

Geneseo, located in Geneseo, New York, is led by head coach Chris Schultz, and won the SUNYAC championship in the 2018-2019 season.
