TOMAHAWKS SPLIT THE WEEKEND WITH JR. AMERICANS

Mar 16, 2024

The opening period started off on a slow pace. At 15:40 Will Moore got the puck past Rochesters goalie which gave the Tomahawks an early lead. Shortly after, Dylan Shane gave the Hawks a two goal lead and goaltender Jacob Osborne stood tall in net, only allowing one goal in the first period. The period ended at 2-1 in favor of the Tomahawks and both teams headed into their respected locker rooms.

Rochester came ready to battle for the second period, within the first 4 minutes of the period they were leading shots 6-0. Alexey Yarmulnik headed to the box for two minutes as he was called for boarding. The Tomahawks had many great chances but were not able to get the puck in the back of Rochesters net. However, Rochester scored two goals in the second which ended the period at 3-2 in favor of the Jr. Americans

For the third and final period of the game there was not much action until the 11:44 mark when Lukas Klemm took a shot and scored on the Rochester goaltender. Klemm’s goal was assisted by Chase Sandhu and Hunter Fetterolf.  Shortly after, Klemm went to the box for checking from behind and Osborne was pulled for the extra attacker. Rochester scored an empty net goal taking the 3-5 lead.
