Jan 28, 2014

The Johnstown Tomahawks are proud to announce that Cody Bentzel, Mitch Hall and Brandon Reinholz have been named to the North Division roster for the 2014 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament. The tournament, held Feb. 17 and 18 in Troy, Mich., gives players the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of college coaches and professional scouts.

Bentzel, who is currently serving as the Tomahawks team captain, has been a member of the organization since the beginning 2012-2013 season. He appeared in 50 games for the Tomahawks last season, scoring five points. This season, Bentzel is one of three Tomahawks players who have appeared in all 43 games. He has matched his point total from last season, including a two-point night in a 4-2 win over Port Huron on Jan. 17.

Hall is one of the top defensive scorers in the league, ranking second among defenseman in points (30), assists (25) and shootout goals (2). Since being acquired from the Jamestown Ironmen in January of 2013, Hall has scored 43 points (9G-32A) in 66 games. He currently leads the team in assists, plus/minus, and power-play assists.

Reinholz has been near the top of the Tomahawks offensive leaderboard all season. He leads the team in goals (15) and shots (126), while ranking second in points (30). Reinholz, who was named the team’s rookie of the year last season, has been an honorable mention for forward of the month twice and for North Division Star of the Week twice.

The Tomahawks travel to Port Huron this Friday and Saturday for a pair of 7 p.m. games against the Fighting Falcons. The team is off the following weekend, before returning home to take on the Michigan Warriors Feb. 14 &15.
