Tomahawks Announce First Annual Summer Hockey School

Johnstown, Pa. – The Johnstown Tomahawks, in partnership with Planet Ice, today announced the First Annual Johnstown Tomahawks Summer Hockey School to be held July 29 – Aug. 2 at Planet Ice in Richland Township.  Directed by the team’s General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations, Rick Boyd, the five-day school will feature instruction by Tomahawks Head Coach Jason Spence and Assistant Coach Mike Letizia with Planet Ice Hockey Schools Director Francis Anzalone serving as both Program Developer and instructor.

“The Tomahawks place a high priority on helping the community and a large part of that is providing opportunities for youth hockey players in our area,” said Rick Boyd. “We are so excited for our first summer hockey school and look forward to providing young players with personalized coaching from some of the best hockey minds in our area and from our very own Tomahawks players.”

Attending players will receive 15 hours of on-ice instruction, daily dry land training, video breakdown reviews, individualized instruction, and thorough training from basic hockey skills to systems and team concepts. Tomahawks players Cody Boyd, Dakoda Menslage, Corey Schaffer, and others will assist Spence, Letizia, and Anzalone. Mike Grattan, scout for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders, will also join the staff as an instructor.
