Tomahawks Announce “Pink at the Rink” Weekend

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Tomahawks, in partnership with Conemaugh Health System, are proud to announce “Pink at the Rink” Weekend on Friday Oct. 19 and Saturday Oct. 20 when the team plays the Sault Ste. Marie Eagles. The two-game homestand will honor cancer caregivers, survivors, and their families, and all proceeds from the games will benefit the Conemaugh Health Foundation’s Cancer Fund.

Friday Oct. 19 will pay tribute to caregivers, researchers, and those who work with cancer patients while Saturday Oct. 20 will celebrate cancer survivors and their families. For both games, the War Memorial Arena ice will be flooded pink and the Tomahawks will don specialty jerseys that will then be auctioned off on Saturday following the game. The profits from these game-worn jerseys, “Cluck-a-Puck,” and 50/50 raffles will all go to the Cancer Fund.

The first 500 fans to enter the arena on Friday will receive pink Conemaugh Health System T-shirts in support of breast cancer awareness. Leading up to the event, Tomahawks players will visit patients at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center on Oct. 10 and Oct. 17.

The Tomahawks will play the Sault Ste. Marie Eagles this upcoming weekend in Michigan for the first time before heading south to play the Warriors. The team then returns home to prepare for two more games against the division-rival Soo Eagles at home.
