The Johnstown Tomahawks are excited to announce key staff updates ahead of the 2025–2026 season. Gary Biggs has been named President of Hockey Operations, Mickey McQuillan will serve as President of Business Operations, Nick Mish has been promoted to Director of Goaltending Development and Assistant General Manager, and Kathy West will lead as Billet Coordinator. “These appointments will serve the purposes of driving the growth and development of the entire Tomahawks organization. We are committed in spirit and purpose to our community and to the entire hockey community and are excited for the next chapter of the team,” said Tomahawks Owners John Koufis & Craig Saylor.
Gary Biggs: “It’s an incredible honor to step into the role of President of Hockey Operations for the Johnstown Tomahawks organization. This team means so much to the community, and I’m deeply committed to carrying forward its proud hockey tradition. My goal is to create a culture of excellence and to help our players grow as athletes and individuals. Together with our coaches, players, and loyal fans, I believe we can build something truly special — a team that inspires on the ice and unites off of it.”
Mickey McQuillan: “I am excited to continue my journey with the Tomahawks. I’m ready to handle anything that comes my way as a member of this team. If I’m asked to step up to help with communication, compliance, operations, planning, sponsorships, fundraising, finances, or community outreach — I’m there. I appreciate the support of all the professionals, players, and fans I’ve been fortunate to meet so far. My door is always open.”
Nick Mish: “It’s been a great six years that I have been a part of the Tomahawks organization. I am very thankful to John and the ownership group for giving me the opportunity to help build a championship culture and team under President of Hockey Operations Gary Biggs and the incoming new head coach. I am excited to be able to work with Gary and bring a Robertson Cup to the town I was born and raised in.”
Kathy West: “I am truly excited to join the Johnstown Tomahawks organization as Billet Coordinator. With my firsthand experience as a billet family, I have gained a deep understanding of the unique needs of both the players and their host families. I look forward to leveraging this insight to ensure a seamless and supportive experience for everyone involved. It is a privilege to be part of such a dynamic and dedicated team, and I am eager to contribute to its continued success.”
The Tomahawks will return to the ice later this month for Main Camp at the North Central Recreation Center (NCRC). Goalie ID Camp will run from July 19–21, followed by Main Camp from July 21–24. All games are free and open to the public.
