TOMAHAWKS BRING A WIN BACK TO JOHNSTOWN

An exciting 6-3 victory on the road for the Johnstown Tomahawks against division rival, the New Jersey Titans.

After a loss to the Titans in the first matchup of the weekend series, the Tomahawks were hungry for a win. The Titans scored first on a power-play goal, after a Liam Whitehouse penalty at 5:15. But, Jay Ahearn answered ten seconds later with his tenth goal of the season assisted by Caden Lewandowski and Brendan Clark. After multiple penalties on both sides, Max Neill was able to answer for Johnstown at 14:02 putting the Tomahawks up 2-1.

Big saves by Peyton Grainer set the tone and sent a message to the Titans. Max Neill added his second goal of the night assisted by, Alex Gritz and Ryan Poorman, putting the Tomahawks up two at 10:50 in the second. Jay Ahearn struck again for his second goal of the night, his 11th of the season with the assist of John Gelatt and the Birthday boy, Brendan Clark. With a strong effort by the Tomahawks during the second, the Tomahawks stopped the Titans from scoring until 18:35 when Jack Ford added to the Titans score. However, the Hawks stayed on top 4-2 to lead the Titans at the conclusion of the second period.

An early altercation in the third, lead to penalties on both sides, with the ejection of Max Neill. After some missed opportunities after back to back power plays the Tomahawks extended the lead with a Daniel Tkac goal at 13:15, assisted by Reed Stark. Just 40 seconds later, Ryan Poorman added to the fun and extended the Tomahawks lead 6 -2 over the Titans. After many impressive saves by Peyton Grainer, the Titans were able to sneak on past in the 3 minutes of the game. The Tomahawks were able to keep their lead and go on to win it, 6-3 in Middletown.
