Tomahawks Continue Community Presence This Summer

Johnstown, Pa. – The Johnstown Tomahawks are proud to once again participate in community events throughout the Johnstown region during the summer of 2013. The organization will be present at over 15 local events, where Chopper and staff members will be greeting fans, sharing season ticket information, and providing fun games and prizes.

“Last season we had so much fun introducing people to the team and informing them about the NAHL and the brand of hockey the Tomahawks would bring to Johnstown,” said Community Relations Manager Whitney Pappas. “Now that we’ve concluded our inaugural season, we’re excited to greet all of our fans, say thank you, share stories and memories from the season, and talk about all the new promotions and events the team is working on.”

While the Tomahawks will not be on the War Memorial ice until the fall, the organization has multiple off-season events in the works, including building a roster for the 2013-2014 season. The first of three open tryout camps was already held in Mt. Clemens, Mich. with camps in Minnesota June 7-9 and in Pittsburgh June 21-23 to follow. July 25-27 will feature the second annual Main Camp at Planet Ice, where returning and tendered players, as well as invitees from the first three camps, will compete to make the team. The camp will be open to the public with more information to be released at a later date.

The Tomahawks will be present at the community festivals and events highlighted below, with more events to be added at later dates.  More information, updates, and reminders will be available on JohnstownTomahawks.com and the team’s official Facebook and Twitter pages as it becomes available.
