Tomahawks Defeat Titans 5-2 (9/28/2019)

JOHNSTOWN, Penn. – The Johnstown Tomahawks returned home to face the New Jersey Titans for the first time since ending their season in Round 2 of the 2018-19 NAHL Robertson Cup Playoffs.
Guests were treated to a special celebrity appearance, as two-time Stanley Cup Champion Phil Bourque met with fans throughout the game. The Ol’ Two Niner stuck around for the entirety of the game, recounting memories of 1st Summit Arena @ Cambria County War Memorial, where he earned his first NHL contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins at a tryout camp.
Three banners were unveiled, commemorating the 2018-19 Johnstown Tomahawks, whose historic season saw them earn the NAHL East Division Championship, NAHL Regular Season Championship, and NAHL East Division Playoff Championship.

  • Spencer DenBeste put the Tomahawks on the board with assists from Pavel Kharin and Carson Grainer.

  • Tristan Poissant put what would be the game winning goal in the net off an assist from Colin Price.
  • Poissant would score again to pull away with a 4-2 lead, with the assist from Christian Gorscak.
  • An unassisted Colin Price then put away the empty netter, leading to a final score of 5-2.
