TOMAHAWKS DOMINATE DANBURY

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks by a score of, 6-1.

The initial period began with the puck drop, officiated by the renowned broadcaster Bob Costas. Despite both teams being eager for a victory, neither managed to score in the first period. As a result, the teams headed to the locker room with the score tied at 0.

The Tomahawks dominated the second period, kicking off with a goal from Taybor Aldrich, assisted by Dylan Shane, putting them on the scoreboard just three minutes into the period. Following that, Justin Rapp contributed to the score with a goal, assisted by Cade Baker and Justin Gibson. To cap it off, Will Lawrence widened the Tomahawks’ lead to 3-0 with a goal assisted by Will Moore and Justin Rapp, concluding the second period.

In the opening minutes of the third period, Justin Rapp secured his second unassisted goal, extending the Tomahawks’ lead to 4-0. Shortly after, Will Lawrence added to the score with another unassisted goal, making it 5-0 in favor of the Johnstown Tomahawks. Chase Sandhu capitalized on a scoring opportunity against his former team, assisted by Justin Gibson, bringing the Tomahawks’ lead to 6-0 just a minute later. Despite Danbury scoring a goal with three minutes left in the period, Jacob Osborne’s impressive performance in the net, stopping 24 shots, helped the Tomahawks secure a final victory with a score of 6-1.

The Johnstown Tomahawks and Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks will face-off for game two of the weekend series tomorrow night at 7:00 PM.
