Tomahawks edge Titans in OT

Mar 10, 2018

Middletown, NJ – In the second game of the three-game weekend series, the Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the New Jersey Titans in overtime on Saturday night at Middletown Ice World.
Much like last night, New Jersey opened the scoring early in the first period. Gavin Gulash scored on the power play to give his team the 1-0 lead less than three minutes in.
Shortly after, the Tomahawks answered back when Andy Nedeljkovic (assisted by Mitchell Hale) netted his seventh of the season at the 5:18 mark of the first.
At the 17:28 mark of the opening period, Matt Cameron would put the Titans back on top 2-1 with his 19th goal of the year again on the power play.
The only goal of the second period belonged to the Johnstown, with Samuel Solensky (assisted by Joe Kile and Roman Kraemer) scoring his 15th to tie the game up at two.
Neither team could break the tie in the third period, so extra time was needed to decide the winner.
1:47 into overtime, Kraemer (assisted by Kile and Solensky) would score his 17th of the season and give the Tomahawks the 3-2 victory.
Johnstown and New Jersey will play the final game of the weekend series tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. at Middletown Ice World.
