TOMAHAWKS FALL SHORT AGAINST DANBURY

The Johnstown Tomahawks fell to the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks by a final score of, 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The initial two periods didn’t go as planned for the Johnstown Tomahawks. Danbury made the first mark just seven minutes into the game. Nonetheless, Justin Rapp, with his second goal of the weekend on the power-play, equalized the score at one, assisted by Zach Aben and Justin Gibson. The first period saw numerous penalties on both sides, heightening tensions. Danbury managed to score two unanswered points to conclude the opening period. Tempers flared even more in the second period. Zack Ferris would take over in net to kick off the second period, looking to give Johnstown the spark they needed to continue their win streak. Despite the change, the lone goal in the second period went to the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, leaving the Tomahawks trailing 1-4 after two periods of play.

The third period would not go the Tomahawks way and the Hat Tricks would score once more giving them a four-goal lead over the Tomahawks. The Jr. Hat Tricks would go on to defeat the Johnstown Tomahawks by a final score of 5-1.

Next weekend, the Johnstown Tomahawks will have an off weekend before making a comeback at the 1ST SUMMIT Arena to face off against the Maine Nordiques on Friday, January 26th, and Saturday, January 27th.
