Tomahawks Fall to Jets 2-0 in Physical Game

        The Johnstown Tomahawks and Janesville Jets met for the first time this season in a physical contest. When all was said and done, the Jets earned the 2-0 win on Friday night at the Cambria County War Memorial. The win pulls the Jets within three points of the Tomahawks for third place in the NAHL North Division.

        Zach Avolio scored the first Jets goal off a face-off at 7:28 of the first period. Truman Gonzalez and AJ Duggan each added assists on the goal. Janesville made it 2-0 in the second period, on a power-play goal by Drew Callin at 10:38. Adam Winborg and Tyler Rehm were credited with the assists.

        Logan Halladay earned the win, stopping all 27 shots he faced. Alex Okicki took the loss stopping 20 of 22 shots. The Tomahawks went 0-for-5 on the power play, while Janesville went 1-for-4.

        The Tomahawks and Jets conclude their weekend series tomorrow night at 7 p.m. as part of Faith & Family night sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
