Tomahawks Fall to Jr. Blues 2-1 on Friday Night

            The Johnstown Tomahawks fell to the Springfield Jr. Blues 2-1 in the first game of a three-game weekend road trip on Friday night in Springfield, Ill.

            The Tomahawks got on the board first, as Luke Lynch deflected the puck past the right side of Springfield goaltender Niko Dellamaggorie 9:01 into the first period. Ian Spencer and Casey Linkenheld had the assists on the power-play goal.

            Tyler Funk tied the game for the Jr. Blues, scoring on a shot between the post and Tomahawks goaltender Ryan Bednard at 15:35 of the first period. Brendan Jacques added the assist on the goal.

            Jason Dhooghe scored the game-winner for the Jr. Blues with 4:25 remaining in the third period. Joshua Lammon and Michael Crowley each earned assists on the game-winner.

            Dellamaggorie earned the win, stopping 25 of 26 shots. Bednard stopped 31 of 33 shots in the loss. The Tomahawks went 1-for-4 on the power play, while going a perfect 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
