Braedon Ford added onto the scoring in the middle frame, netting his first goal of the season to tie the game for the Tomahawks at 3. It looked like the teams were going to head off with things knotted up, but right as the buzzer sounded to end the period, Danbury’s Roberts Andersons put the puck behind Tomahawks netminder Tommy Heaney to give the Jr. Hat Tricks a 4-3 lead to start the 3rd period.
Danbury came out and extended their lead 5:19 into the 3rd period with a goal from Boris Skalos, but Jake Black responded immediately for the Tomahawks, scoring 32 seconds later making it 5-4 in favor of Danbury. Despite a power play opportunity in the late stages of regulation, the Tomahawks weren’t able to convert and complete the comeback, resulting in a 5-4 loss.
