TOMAHAWKS FALL TO MOUNTAIN KINGS

The Johnstown Tomahawks fell to the New Hampshire Mountain Kings by a final score of, 7-5. 

The opening period began with a bang as Hunter Fetterolf, playing against his former team, found the net for the second time over the weekend, courtesy of assists from Taybor Aldrich and Hank Reed, granting the Tomahawks an early 1-0 advantage just two minutes into the game. Momentum stayed on the Tomahawk’s side as Cade Baker, riding a wave of success, widened the gap to 2-0 seven minutes later. Nonetheless, before the period concluded, the Mountain Kings managed to score one, narrowing the margin to 2-1 as the first period came to a close.

In the second period, Chase Sandhu strikes first, finding the back of the net with an assist from Lukas Klemm, putting the Tomahawks ahead 3-1. However, New Hampshire responds with two consecutive goals, leveling the score at three. Both goaltenders showcase their skills, keeping the game tight as the two NAHL East teams head into the locker room tied at three.

The third period commenced with a New Hampshire goal, propelling them into the lead a mere three minutes into the period. The game swung back and forth as both teams battled fiercely, with goaltenders on both ends showcasing their skills in pursuit of victory. Justin Gibson leveled the score with less than ten minutes remaining, courtesy of an assist from Zach Aben, bringing the tally to four goals apiece. However, New Hampshire swiftly regained the lead just four minutes later. Hank Reed stepped up to the plate, knotting the score once again at five, with assists from Dylan Shane and Fetterolf. Regrettably, New Hampshire managed to find the net twice more before the period’s close, ultimately securing a 7-5 victory over the Johnstown Tomahawks.
