Tomahawks fall to Titans 7-2

Middletown, NJ – In the opening game of the weekend series, the New Jersey Titans defeated the Johnstown Tomahawks 7-2 Friday night at Middletown Ice World. 
The Titans wasted little time getting on the board, as Zach Faremouth opened the scoring 47 seconds in. 
Matt Cameron then scored his 18th of the season at the 13:58 mark of the first to put New Jersey up 2-0. 
With less than a minute to play, Ryan Naumovski put up New Jersey’s third goal of the opening period. Tomahawks goalie Jack Leavy was then pulled in favor of Kade Phipps. 
The second period saw both teams score goals. Six minutes in, Chris Garbe scored on the power play to increase the Titans’ lead to 4-0. 
Joe Kile (assisted by Andrew Quetell and Samuel Solensky) finally broke the shutout for Johnstown, scoring his 13th of the season at the 12:38 mark of the second. 
Six minutes later, Spencer Stanley put the Titans back up by four. The Tomahawks went into the second intermission down 5-1. 
Nick Boyagian added to the Titans’ lead at the 6:28 mark of the third. 
Two minutes later, Eric Manoukian scored to put New Jersey up 7-1. 
The final goal of the game went to Johnstown, with Solensky (assisted by Roman Kraemer and Anthony Szurlej) scoring his 14th of the season to make it 7-2. 
The Tomahawks will play the Titans again tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
