TOMAHAWKS FIND THEMSELVES ON WRONG SIDE AGAIN VS NORDIQUES

Oct 6, 2024

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Tomahawks were defeated by a score of 2-1 in a tight contest on Saturday night at 1st Summit Arena.

Saturday night’s action began in the complete opposite direction of the night before with a scoreless first period that also had plenty of hits, shots and chances for both teams.

Taking a page out of his teams’ 2nd period gameplan from last night, Tomahawks forward Nick White earned the first goal of the game thanks to a beautiful solo effort while shorthanded just a minute into the period. The Tomahawks would go on to only hold the lead for another 10 minutes of action after the Nordiques got themselves on the board at the 12:47 mark. With just under a minute left to play in the frame, Maine added an insurance marker that would give them a 2-1 lead heading into the break.

The 3rd period of Saturday’s contest was the least eventful of all six periods on the weekend with just a total of 11 shots for both teams combined. Johnstown needed a big 3rd period to turn around the momentum of the weekend, and they ultimately couldn’t produce the game-tying goal and fell 2-1 in regulation time.

The Tomahawks resume action next weekend for a weekend series in Elmira to take on the Aviators. Game 1 will be on Saturday night at 7:00 PM in Elmira.   Get your tickets at Buy Johnstown Tomahawks Tickets | 2024-2025 Event Dates & Schedule | Ticketmaster.com Can’t attend?
