Tomahawks Goaltender Ryan Bednard Named To NHL Watch List

Johnstown, Pa. – Johnstown Tomahawks goaltender Ryan Bednard was named to the NHL Central Scouting Service 2015 Preliminary Players to Watch List. The Macomb, Mich. native is one of 42 players participating in the third annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game on Thursday night in Buffalo, NY.

 

Bednard was given a C rating, indicating he is considered a candidate to be drafted in the fourth, fifth, or sixth round of the 2015 NAHL Entry Draft. Bednard is one of ten NAHL players to be included in the list.

 

Bednard is also one of two NAHL goaltenders who will play in tomorrow's CCM/USA Hockey All American Prospects Game, to be played in Buffalo, NY. Bednard will play for Team Grier, coached by retired 14-year NHL veteran Mike Grier. Former Pittsburgh Penguins coach and player Eddie Olczyk will coach the opposing team.

 

The game begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday night, and will be broadcast live on NHL Network. Tomahawks fans are invited to attend a special viewing party for the game at Quaker Steak & Lube, 1425 Scalp Ave., in Richland.
