TOMAHAWKS HAVE ALL EYES ON ANOTHER FOUR-POINT WEEKEND AT HOME VERSUS MOUNTAIN KINGS

Dec 17, 2025

The Johnstown Tomahawks will be back at 1ST SUMMIT Arena this weekend to kick off a four-game home stand versus the New Hampshire Mountain Kings! The Mountain Kings are one of the NAHL’s newest teams and are still trying to find their stride and get acquainted to the style of play that the NAHL prides itself on. The Tomahawks are coming off of what was probably their best weekend of the season against the second place Maine Nordiques. The Hawks got it done both nights, in regulation on Friday night by a score of 4-2 and then needed OT on Saturday but also prevailed by a score of 3-2 for the weekend sweep. The struggling Mountain Kings sit at the bottom of the East Division with a 7-17-4 record through 28 games and will look to find some kind of spark this weekend in Johnstown. The sixth place Tomahawks have become quite familiar with the six-spot, spending nearly the last two months there. With the great weekend in Maine, despite the sixth place standing, they sit just seven points back of the Nordiques in second place. With the Tomahawks facing off against New Hampshire and Northeast the following weekend, a huge swing of points could be possible in the East Division.

A LOOK BACK AT LAST SEASON

The Mountain Kings joined the NAHL two years ago to begin the 2023 season and have played just 147 games in the team’s history,  including their 28 games played this season. New Hampshire’s all-time record is 54-81-9-3. After an expected struggle in their inaugural season, the Mountain Kings did improve last season but to begin the 2025-26 season, they haven’t been able to replicate that improvement and have begun to swing the other way again. Although there is no easy matchup in the NAHL on any given night, The Tomahawks will certainly move to an “easier” patch of their schedule over the next month or so. New Hampshire has lost 11 games in a row coming into this weekend and the Tomahawks will look to make it 13.

Last year the Tomahawks and Mountain Kings faced off six times, which is standard for most in-division matchups. The Tomahawks had a pretty strong series, winning four of the six games. Only two games were played in Johnstown and four games were in New Hampshire, which flip-flops for this season as four will happen on our home ice and two in New Hampshire. The first two games were played in NH and they were both lopsided victories, one for each team (6-1 JTN, 7-1 NHK). The Tomahawks four wins all came by two goals or more. The Tomahawks only loss at home in the series came in Overtime by a score of 3-2. .

2025-2026 KEYS TO THE MATCHUP

  • The Tomahawks are coming off an outstanding weekend, snapping their goal scoring drought, putting up seven in two games versus the Nordiques.
  • The Mountain Kings have lost 11 games in a row this season and the Tomahawks will look to avoid disaster within the East Division standings.
  • The Tomahawks have gotten some more balanced depth scoring as of late as well, but remain rather top-heavy. Nick Jarmain and Emerson Marshall lead the way with 33pts a piece and defenseman Kalib Capecci has also joined the 20pt club on the season.
  • New Hampshire is led offensively by defenseman Thomas Quast who has recorded 18pts through 28 games played.

Another huge weekend lies ahead for the Tomahawks and the need for another four points remains to be of high-priority. Don’t miss any of the action and tune in live on NATV – https://nahltv.com/
