Tomahawks Secure 3-2 Win Against Aberdeen

Sep 16, 2023

The Johnstown Tomahawks beat the Aberdeen Wings by a score of 3-2 in the third matchup of the 2023 NAHL Showcase.

The Tomahawks wasted no time as they took an early lead, courtesy of Lukas Klemm’s goal just a minute and a half into the game, assisted by Will Lawrence. They maintained excellent puck control throughout the first period. However, with eight minutes remaining in the period, the Wings managed to hit the back of the net. As a result, both teams entered the locker room with the score tied at 1.

The second period kicked off with a session of 4-on-4 hockey. Justin Rapp seized the opportunity, netting his second goal of the season with a huge assist from Hundley, giving the Tomahawks a 2-1 lead. Rapp’s goal would stand as the sole scoring play of the second period.

The third period began with the Tomahawks on a power play, and Nick White capitalized on the opportunity by scoring an unassisted power-play goal, extending their lead to 3-1. The Wings managed to score with just five minutes remaining in the game, but the Tomahawks emerged victorious with a final score of 3-2.
