TOMAHAWKS SECURE VITAL WIN OVER REBELS IN SHOOTOUT

Mar 23, 2024

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Philadelphia Rebels, 2-1 in a shootout on Friday night.

The clash between two rivals from the Keystone State kicked off with high emotions as both teams aimed for vital points leading up to the Robertson Cup Playoffs. Johnstown, having already secured a spot, sought to maintain their position atop the standings, while Philadelphia fought to sustain their playoff aspirations. The Tomahawks drew first blood in the opening period, with Nick White netting a goal assisted by Dylan Shane and Lukas Klemm, granting them a 1-0 lead as the period concluded.

The second period would go the opposite way for the Tomahawks. With a back-and-forth battle during the duration of the second set of 20 minutes, both teams would make strides toward the net. However, Philadelphia would be the only team to do so. At the sound of the buzzer, the Tomahawks and Rebels would head to the locker room tied at one.

Both teams entered the third period deadlocked at one, the stakes running high. The regulation 20 minutes proved insufficient, leading the game into overtime and ultimately to a shootout. It was Will Lawrence who emerged as the hero, sealing the victory for the Tomahawks with his decisive goal, securing a 2-1 triumph over the Rebels.

The Johnstown Tomahawks will face the Philadelphia Rebels for the regular season home finale tomorrow night at 7:00 PM. Tomahawks will be wearing Guns’ N Hoses that are available on DASH Auction.
