JOHNSTOWN SWEEPS NORTHEAST

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Northeast Generals by a final score of 5-3 on Saturday night.

In front of a packed house, the Johnstown Tomahawks had their eyes on a sweep of Northeast Generals. The Tomahawks got the scoring start with a power-play goal from Reid Lune assisted by Zach Aben and Lukas Klemm to give the Tomahawks an early lead against the Generals. However just five minutes later, Northeast would tie the game at one. Before the period was over Chase Sandhu put the Tomahawks back on top with his 13th goal of the season assisted by Hunter Fetterolf. At the end of the first period, the Tomahawks lead the Generals, 2-1.

The second period was a back-and-forth battle between the East Division Rivals. Alexey Yarmulnik added to the Tomahawks score with a power play goal assisted by Will Moore and Cade Baker to give the Tomahawks a 3-1 advantage over the Generals. However just eight seconds later, Northeast answered making it a 3-2 game. And then with just 28 seconds remaining in the period, Northeast would tie the game at three at the end of the second period. 

The Tomahawks clinched the weekend sweep thanks to a stellar performance in the third period, spearheaded by Will Lawrence. Lawrence opened the scoring in the period with his first goal, assisted by Alexey Yarmulnik and Isaac Holt, giving the Tomahawks the lead. Later, he netted his second goal of the game, securing the victory at 5-3 with assists from Zach Aben and Lukas Klemm. The Tomahawks ultimately triumphed over the Generals, 5-3. Jacob Osborne was solid in net, stopping 29 of 32 shots on goal, capping off an impressive weekend.
