Tomahawks Sweep Northeast

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Northeast Generals by a score of 3-2 on Saturday night.

The first period got off to an intense start with both teams eyeing two crucial points. The Tomahawks came out physically and ready to roll in front of over 3,000 Hawks fans. However, Northeast would find the back of the net first and take the early lead. At the end of the first period, the Tomahawks would find themselves down a goal. 

It was a quiet, but exciting second period. Tomahawks and Generals provided a physical period while goaltender Jacob Osborne was untouchable in goal making huge saves. Tomahawk found the back of the net with 42 seconds remaining in the period with a goal from Ryan Shane assisted by Hank Reed and Alexey Yarmulnik. The score would be tied at one at the end of the second period.

The Tomahawks opened the third period with an unassisted goal from Reid Lune to tie the game at two. And then just minutes later Will Lawrence sent a rocket into the back of the assisted by Justin Gibson and Will Moore to give the Tomahawks a 3-1 lead. Northeast would score to make it 3-2 but it would be the Tomahawks to end up on top by a final score of 3-2, completing the weekend sweep. Jacob Osborne was unstoppable stopping 26 of 28 shots on goal.
