The opening period commenced with the Mountain Kings securing an early lead, scoring just over a minute into the game. Nevertheless, Cade Baker, a recent addition to the Johnstown Tomahawks this week, swiftly responded, netting his inaugural goal as a Tomahawk two minutes later with an assist from Sean Morgan. The Tomahawks furthered their advantage, courtesy of a Lukas Klemm goal, assisted by Justin Rapp and Will Moore, granting them a 2-1 lead against the Mountain Kings. However, New Hampshire managed to level the score a minute later. Undeterred, Nick White countered with a goal, assisted by Zach Aben, reclaiming a 3-2 lead for the Tomahawks. Despite this, New Hampshire answered once more, resulting in a tied game at the conclusion of the first period.
The second period was characterized by a physical intensity, and Jacob Osborne sustained his remarkable weekend with yet another impressive showing. Will Lawrence contributed a power-play goal, assisted by Justin Rapp, propelling the Tomahawks to a 4-3 lead. As the second period concluded, the score stood at 4-3 in favor of the Johnstown Tomahawks.
Once more, the third period showcased the dominance of the Tomahawks. Dylan Shane scored his inaugural goal of the season, expanding the Tomahawks’ lead to 5-3. Goaltender Jacob Osborne demonstrated his prowess by stopping 30 of 33 shots throughout the contest. To secure the victory, Chase Sandhu netted an empty goal, sealing a 6-3 win for the Tomahawks and completing the weekend sweep against the New Hampshire Mountain Kings.
