TOMAHAWKS TAKE GAME ONE OVER GENERALS

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Northeast Generals by a final score of, 4-2 on Friday night.

In the pursuit of a spot in the Robertson Cup Playoffs, both NAHL East Division teams understand the significance of every point. Northeast opened the scoring, finding the back of the net 11 minutes into the game and seizing the initial lead. However, with less than three minutes remaining in the first period, Will Lawrence added another goal on his remarkable season and equalized the score at one with a goal, assisted by Hayes Hundley and Zach Aben. Just two minutes later, Alexey Yarmulnik extended the Tomahawks’ lead with a goal, assisted by Justin Gibson and Cade Baker. As the first period concluded, the score stood at two goals for the Johnstown Tomahawks and one for the Northeast Generals.

The second period saw the Johnstown Tomahawks kick off the scoring with a power play goal courtesy of Jaden Johnson, assisted by Lukas Klemm and Reid Lune, extending their lead to 3-1 against the Generals. Just a minute later, Taybor Aldrich notched his sixth goal of the season, elevating the Tomahawks’ lead to 4-1, with an assist from Hunter Fetterolf and Hank Reed. Goaltender Jacob Osborne made impressive saves throughout the contest thus far as the Tomahawks managed to tally four unanswered goals. However, Northeast managed to find the back of the net once more before the period’s end, narrowing the score to 4-2 in favor of the Tomahawks.

Although the score would not change during the third period, Tomahawks goaltender Jacob Osborne had an outstanding performance stopping 34-of-36 shots on net. The Tomahawks would go on to defeat the Northeast Generals by a final score of 4-2.
