TOMAHAWKS TAKE GAME ONE OVER TITANS

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the New Jersey Titans by a final score of 5-2 on Friday night.

The opening period belonged entirely to the Tomahawks, with Niagara Commit, Dylan Shane igniting the scoring just seven minutes in, assisted by Reid Lune and Cade Baker, giving the Tomahawks an early advantage. Following suit, Offensive Rookie of the Year Taylor Aldrich bolstered the Tomahawks’ tally with assistance from Alexey Yarmulnik. Continuing the onslaught, Cade Baker netted his 12th goal of the season, further extending the Tomahawks’ lead over the Titans, with assists from Isaac Holt and Justin Rapp. By the conclusion of the first period, the Tomahawks had outpaced the Titans, outscoring them 3-0.

As they entered the second period with a commanding 3-0 lead, the Tomahawks were determined to clinch a victory to help their chances of securing home-ice advantage for the first round of the Robertson Cup Playoffs. Chase Sandhu widened the Tomahawks’ lead to 4-0 against the New Jersey Titans, assisted by Alexey Yarmulnik. Goaltender Zack Ferris was perfect in net throughout the initial two periods, stopping all 27 shots on goal, as the Tomahawks headed to the locker room with a commanding 4-0 lead over the New Jersey Titans.

In the opening moments of the third period, New Jersey sought to stage a comeback against the Johnstown Tomahawks. Their efforts were marked by a rapid succession of two goals within a minute, narrowing the Tomahawks’ lead to 4-2. Nevertheless, Hunter Fetterolf extended the Tomahawks’ advantage with a goal, assisted by Dylan Shane, expanding the margin to 5-2. Zack Ferris showcased his prowess by halting 42 of the 44 shots on goal, securing a 5-2 victory for the Johnstown Tomahawks over the New Jersey Titans.
