Nov 11, 2023

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Philadelphia Rebels 4-1, on Friday night.

The Johnstown Tomahawks seamlessly continued their momentum from last weekend’s sweep against Northeast. Assistant Captain Justin Gibson wasted no time, netting a power play goal just two minutes into the game, assisted by Zach Aben and Justin Rapp. This early score gave the Tomahawks a 1-0 lead over the Philadelphia Rebels. As the period approached its end, Assistant Captain Lukas Klemm capitalized on an opportunity with an assist from Will Moore and Dylan Shane extending the Tomahawks’ lead to 2-0. The Tomahawks would head to the locker room with a comfortable advantage over Philadelphia, showcasing a strong start to the game.

Reid Lune, returning to the Tomahawks lineup after recovering from an injury, made a significant impact by scoring a goal assisted by Chase Sandhu, expanding the Tomahawks’ lead to 3-0. Despite the Rebels managing to score one past goaltender Jacob Osborne, bringing the score to 3-1, the Tomahawks responded as Will Moore found the back of the net with an unassisted goal, pushing their lead to 4-1. As the second period concluded, the Tomahawks maintained a commanding 4-1 advantage over the Rebels.

The third period concluded with a consistent score of 4-1. Jacob Osborne showcased outstanding performance guarding the net, successfully thwarting 34 out of 35 shots from the Rebels. The Tomahawks secured a victory, extending their winning streak to three with a final score of 4-1 against the Rebels.
