Tomahawks Topped by Titans

The New Jersey Titans defeated the Johnstown Tomahawks in Johnstown on Friday night 7-3.

New Jersey got on the board 6:38 into the game with a goal from Marcus Sang. Four and a half minutes later, Drake Albers netted goal number thirteen on the season to put the Hawks on the board with a power play goal. The Titans responded with a power play goal of their own as Levente Keresztes scored his twelfth of the season. The Tomahawks had a late power play opportunity in the first, which was killed off, giving the Titans a 2-1 lead to start the second period.

Sylas Oberting and Michael Young added to the scoresheet for New Jesey in the second to give the Titans a 4-1 lead. Goals from Ryan Vellucci and Anthony Galante brought the Tomahawks back within one to end the second period and setting the scene for an exciting third.

New Jersey took control with three-third period goals as Sang and Kerezstes tallied on their second goals of the game, with the insurance goal coming from Brady Hildreth 1:09 into the period. The defending Robertson Cup Champs won the game by a final score of 7-3.
