However, with just over a minute remaining in the opening period, defenseman Justin Gibson netted his second goal of the season, assisted by Will Lawrence and Alexey Yarmulnik. As a result, the score was tied at 1 at the conclusion of the first period.
Entering the second period of the game, the Tomahawks found themselves in control with a 2-1 lead over the El Paso Rhinos. This advantage was established by none other than Isaac Holt, who notched his very first goal in his NAHL career.
